2026-27 AHSVCA Awards Timeline

AHSVCA/AVCA membership is required to nominate & receive AHSVCA & AVCA awards.

Nominations are open for the 2026-27 AHSVCA Preseason Players to Watch List from July 27, to August 7.

  • Each AHSVCA/AVCA member coach can nominate UP TO FOUR (4) eligible student-athletes
  • Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Alabama high school athletes are eligible
  • Coaches MUST be a AHSVCA/AVCA active member to nominate.

AHSVCA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Announcement

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA (June 1, 2026) – The Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association (AHSVCA) is adding five members to its Hall of Fame: Gretchen Boykin, Kittilax “Apple” Kridakorn, Rebecca “Becky” Lee, Tanya Lybarger Childers, and Warren House. These highly regarded volleyball coaches have made significant contributions to advancement of high school volleyball in Alabama.

The Class of 2026 was selected by the AHSVCA Board of Directors and AHSVCA Awards and Recognition Committee from nominations submitted by AHSVCA member coaches and others involved in the Alabama high school volleyball community.  The induction ceremony will be held during the 2026 AHSAA Summer Conference – Volleyball Coaching School following the 2nd set of the All Star Match on Thursday, July 23, at the Montgomery Multiplex at Cramton Bowl (1037 Pelham Street, Montgomery, AL).  Learn more.


AHSVCA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Nominations Open April 1-15

The AHSVCA recognizes those who have reached the pinnacle of their profession and the sport of volleyball, by naming them to the AHSVCA Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors those who have made significant contributions to high school volleyball in Alabama.  Alabama high school volleyball coaches and contributors (i.e. trainers, administrators, officials, sportswriters, junior high coaches, association contributors, etc.) can be nominated.
Nominations are valid for three years, so don’t wait to recognize someone deserving.

EACH AHSVCA MEMBER HEAD COACH MAY SUBMIT ONE ALL-STATE VOTING BALLOT BY CLICKING ON YOUR CLASS BELOW. You may only vote for All-State in your school classification.

ALL-STATE Selection Process:

  • Voting ballots received from AHSVCA varsity head coach members will determine All-State Teams.
  • Up to 25 student-athletes with the highest vote totals in each class will receive All-State.
  • Player of the Year will be awarded per class to the athlete with the highest vote total.
     

COACH OF THE YEAR Voting Instructions & Selection Process:

ALL AHSVCA MEMBER COACHES MAY VOTE FOR ONE COACH OF THE YEAR IN EACH SCHOOL CLASSIFICATION. Coaches are NOT required to vote in every class.

  • Coach of the Year will be selected for each class.
  • Voting is not necessary for Classes 1A, 2A, and 3A, as each class has a single outstanding nominee.

2025-26 AHSVCA All-State and Coach of the Year Nominations Open

Submit your nominations from September 29 to October 12, 2025, for 2025-26 Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association (AHVCA) All-State and Coach of the Year. Awards will be selected by class. AHSVCA/AVCA active membership is required to nominate.

  • NOMINATE ALL-STATE - Each varsity head coach member can nominate UP TO FOUR eligible student-athletes for All-State. Athletes do NOT have to be from your school/team, but MUST be from your class and received some recognition this season. 
     
  • NOMINATE COACH OF THE YEAR - All member coaches may nominate to Coach of the Year in any school classification. Members may nominate more than one coach. Coach of the Year nominees must be an active member. 

Nominations must be submitted by Sunday, October 12.


2025-26 AHSVCA Preseason Watch List Announcement

Montgomery, AL (August 18, 2025) – The Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association (AHSVCA) is pleased to announce its 2025-26 AHSVCA Preseason Student-Athletes to Watch List. This year's Watch List honors 327 student-athletes from high schools through the state.

The Preseason Watch List sets the stage for the AHSVCA All-State and Player of the Year awards programs named later this fall.

Make sure to mark your calendar, 2025-26 AHSVCA All-State and Coach of the Year nominations will be open September 29, to October 10. To participate in these awards programs, AHSVCA/AVCA Membership is required.

  • EACH AHSVCA/AVCA member coach can nominate UP TO FOUR (4) ELIGIBLE STUDENT-ATHLETES for the 2024-25 AHSVCA Preseason Watch List
  • Coaches MUST be a AHSVCA/AVCA member to nominate
  • Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior athletes are eligible for the Watch List
